The short version
ScentPassport is a fragrance discovery platform. You use it, we provide it, and we both agree to behave reasonably. The full details are below, but that's the spirit of it.
1. Who we are
ScentPassport is operated by ScentPassport ("we," "us," "our"). We provide a mood-based fragrance recommendation platform accessible at scentpassport.ai and scentpassport.com, including all features within the app such as the Mood Wheel, Scent Collection, Layering Lab, and Scent Stylist.
2. Accepting these terms
By creating an account or using ScentPassport, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll let you know via email (if you're subscribed) or a notice in the app. Continuing to use ScentPassport after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
3. Your account
Creating an account:
You can join ScentPassport by providing your email address. You're responsible for keeping your account information accurate and for any activity that happens under your account.
Anonymous use:
Some features are accessible without an email address, using an anonymous session stored on your device. If you clear your browser data or switch devices, anonymous sessions cannot be recovered.
Account security:
We use magic link sign-in — there's no password to manage or lose. If you believe your account has been accessed without your permission, contact us at privacy@scentpassport.ai.
4. Using ScentPassport
You may:
- Use the app for personal, non-commercial fragrance discovery
- Save fragrances to your Scent Collection and create layering combinations
- Share your recommendations via the app's built-in sharing features
- Use the AI Scent Stylist to describe your mood in your own words
You may not:
- Use the app for any unlawful purpose
- Scrape, copy, or systematically extract content or data from the platform
- Attempt to reverse engineer, hack, or interfere with the app or its infrastructure
- Impersonate another person or create accounts for deceptive purposes
- Use the platform to distribute spam, malware, or harmful content
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
5. AI-powered features
ScentPassport includes an AI Scent Stylist feature powered by Anthropic's Claude. A few things to know:
- Recommendations are for inspiration and personal enjoyment only — they are not professional advice
- AI responses may occasionally be imperfect, unexpected, or not to your taste
- We do not guarantee that any recommended fragrance will be available, in stock, or suit your individual skin chemistry
- Your text input to the Scent Stylist is processed by Anthropic to generate a response; please don't enter sensitive personal information into this field
6. Fragrance recommendations
The recommendations provided by ScentPassport — whether from our curated database or the AI Stylist — are based on mood associations and editorial curation. They are provided for inspiration only.
We make no warranties regarding:
- The suitability of any fragrance for your skin type or sensitivities
- The accuracy of fragrance descriptions or notes
- The availability or pricing of any fragrance through third-party retailers
- Any allergic or adverse reactions to fragrances
If you have known fragrance sensitivities or allergies, please consult the manufacturer's ingredients list before purchasing or wearing any product.
7. Intellectual property
Ours:
All content on ScentPassport — including the brand, app design, mood system, curation, copy, and imagery — is owned by or licensed to ScentPassport. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without written permission.
Yours:
Any content you create within the app — layering combinations, saved collections — remains yours. By saving it to our platform, you grant us a limited license to store and display it back to you and, where you choose to share it, to others via the sharing features.
8. Third-party links and products
ScentPassport may reference or link to third-party fragrance brands, retailers, or products. We are not responsible for the content, availability, or practices of third-party websites. Any purchase you make through a third-party retailer is a transaction between you and that retailer — ScentPassport is not a party to it.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
ScentPassport is provided "as is" and "as available." We do our best to keep the app running smoothly, but we make no guarantee that it will be available at all times, error-free, or free of interruptions. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of — or inability to use — the platform.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ScentPassport's total liability for any claim arising from your use of the platform is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or $100, whichever is greater). We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages of any kind.
11. Indemnification
You agree to defend and hold harmless ScentPassport, its founders, team, and partners from any claims, losses, or damages arising from your violation of these terms or misuse of the platform.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of San Francisco County, California.
13. Termination
You may stop using ScentPassport at any time. You may request deletion of your account and data by emailing privacy@scentpassport.ai.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the platform at any time, for any reason, with or without notice — though we'll always try to give you fair warning if it's within our control.
